Anti Aging Science on the Molecular Level: Sirtuins and Resveratrol
Posted under: Education — Brian Howard @ 10:40 amScientists and clinicians have known for years that red wine offers health benefits. Scientific studies are now elucidating the exact molecules that are felt to be responsible for these benefits. Sirtuins are a class of molecules which appear to have a significant role in the aging process on a molecular level, and resveratrol has been the sirtuin in red wine which is being credited for the lowered heart disease risk. Scientists are attempting to develop a pill form to mimic the health benefits of drinking red wine without the “buzz!”
