Non Surgical Rhinoplasty in Atlanta, Georgia by Dr. Brian Howard

Posted under: Injectables, Non Surgical Nose Job, NonSurgical Rhinoplasty — Brian Howard @ 9:08 pm

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is perhaps the most difficult procedure performed by board certified plastic and cosmetic surgeons. The complexity of the healing process of human tissues at times can make final results not one hundred percent predictable. This can result in the need for surgical revisions even in the best of hands. Although most rhinoplasty patients go on to heal perfectly well with good results, some patients heal with small areas of asymmetry or unevenness that may leave a patient unsatisfied with the final result.

Fortunately, the advent of non-surgical fillers has opened up new exciting avenues for patients needing small or limited areas of touch up on their nose. Simple injections of biocompatible fillers can be done as bedside office procedures with no anesthesia required (other than local anesthesia). Results from non-surgical rhinoplasty are typically highly predictable and may last over a year. Equally appealing is that the injections can be reversed if the result is not ideal, if hyaluronic acid based fillers were the injected agents.

Dr. Brian Howard in Atlanta, Georgia has established a strong reputation for his expertise in non-surgical rhinoplasty. His practice sees and treats patients from across the Southeastern United States for minor corrections from previous rhinoplasty, previous nose trauma, and even some naturally existing nose deformities. The procedure is typically short and downtime consists of icing the nose for 2-3 days afterward. No additional scars, no general anesthesia, no stitches, and patients can drive themselves to and from the office. He is most impressed with the use of hyaluronic acid based fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, although at times he uses Radiesse as well.

New soft tissue fillers are constantly being tested and improved for human use. Hydrelle was recently featured on national television. Hydrelle is a hyaluronic acid based filler, which means that no testing is required prior to use. If you have a known allergy to sulfites, as found in red wine, you should not use Hydrelle. Hydrelle also has lidocaine mixed into the product which may lead to a less painful injection procedure. Call our office to find out more about this new filler.

Non Surgical Rhinoplasty or Non Surgical Nose Job in Atlanta, Georgia

Posted under: Injectables, Uncategorized — Brian Howard @ 9:21 am

A non-surgical rhinoplasty (also known as as a non-surgical nose job, 5 minute nose job, or sometimes a fifteen minute nose job) involves injection of filler materials such as Radiesse, Restylane, or Juvederm to improve the shape of the nose. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a fast and simple alternative for patients wanting to change the appearance of their nose but are not yet ready for or don’t need a surgical rhinoplasty. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is fast, and done in Dr. Howard’s office with minimal discomfort. Results usually last at least a year depending on the filler used for procedure. Dr. Howard is extremely well-qualified in non-surgical rhinoplasty and is a double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty can typically help the following types of noses:
1. small humps, bumps, and asymmetry
2. prior surgery with overly scooped or overly operated on appearance
3. minor fullness on the nasal dorsum
4. noses that look too “short”

Non-surgical rhinoplasty are not ideal for the following types of noses:
1. large humps, bumps, or wide noses
2. significant asymmetry
4. noses needing less volume, not more volume

Dr. Howard has performed numerous non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures in our Atlanta and Roswell, Georgia office using these fillers with exciting and fast results. The cost of a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a fraction of the cost of a surgical rhinoplasty.

Many Great Filler Products Available for Use

Posted under: Injectables — Brian Howard @ 12:10 pm

As a skilled injector with a busy injectable practice, I am knowledgeable about all of the various wrinkle fillers currently available in the USA and am able to recommend a specific product for a specific area.  Often, combinations of different fillers are injected to maximize the results.  Deep volumization can be addressed using products such as Sculptra, while more superficial contouring can be achieved using products such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, or many others.  Other factors I consider when determining which filler to use include available downtime, budget, and desired length of effect.

Sculptra adds Longevity in Atlanta and Roswell, Georgia

Posted under: Injectables — Brian Howard @ 1:08 pm

Sculptra

Sculptra is quickly becoming my method of choice for augmenting the face without any downtime or any anesthesia!  Performed in the office, Sculptra injections are well tolerated by most patients who can return to normal activities and apply make-up immediately!

Sculptra is made up of a synthetic material which has been used for years in dissolvable stitches and facial implants.  Due to the natural biocompatibility of the molecule, no skin testing is required and injections are done on the same day as the first consultation at my office.

Injections are done two to four weeks apart until optimal results are seen.  It is safe to combine Sculptra injections with other injectables such as Botox or Restylane, and I perform this commonly.  Most patients reach that goal in three to five injections.  Results, although variable, can be expected to last two years or more!  Side effects are rare, but may include temporary bruising and swelling.

Call our office today and schedule your appointment to discuss Sculptra today!

Restylane

Posted under: Injectables — Brian Howard @ 9:46 am

Restylane is a type of naturally occurring skin molecule called hyaluronic acid. By injecting into the skin, I am able to use the substance as a soft tissue filler, usually in the face. Restylane is currently the most popular filler on the market.
It is most useful for the treatment of small lips, facial wrinkles, and signs of aging on the face
Restylane injections are performed in my office, and can be done without requiring anesthesia in some people. This is made available, however, for those patients who require it. No skin testing is required prior to receiving the first injection. Depending on how many areas need injection, the session may last from 30 minutes to one hour. Some patients will benefit from a touch-up injection about three weeks from the first injection. Results can last up to six months.
Restylane is commonly combined with other injectables, including Botox and Sculptra or laser treatments.
Side effects are uncommon, although temporary swelling and bruising can occur. My patients are able return to normal activities and apply makeup immediately! Call the office to schedule your appointment now!
